Who are they: The Welcome Home, inner city mission
What do they do? They provide various faith-based programs for people in the Point Douglas area. Some programs include a child art program, an after-school drop-in centre, family night, piano lessons and a food bank.
In their own words: At The Welcome Home, we want to help people in any way that we can. We are always in need of non-perishable food items for our food bank, because we try to feed the hungry in body and spirit. We try to build a community and a place where people can be themselves at The Welcome Home.
Their Christmas hope: That more affordable housing becomes available in the city, so people could have a 'real home'.
How do you help? The Welcome Home is always looking for donations of non-perishable food items for their food bank, as well as cash donations that will go towards their renovation projects. People wishing to donate are asked to call Rev. Michael Smolinski at 946-5352.
