Winnipeg Free Press - ONLINE EDITION

The weather outside is frightful

The good news is that after the snow piles up to as high as 10 centimetres today, the sun will come out tomorrow. The bad news is that it will be bitterly cold in Winnipeg all weekend.

The high on Sunday is expected to be -32 C with the wind chill. A 20-kilometre-per-hour north wind today and Sunday is making -20 C temperatures feel even colder.

Monday, the mercury will rise a bit to -18 C but it will feel like -26 C with the wind. The normal high for this time of year in Winnipeg is -9 C.
