  • Print

The RCMP have arrested a third person in connection with a January robbery at the Keeseekoowenin First Nation gaming centre.

Earlier this week, RCMP officers arrested an inmate at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre in Edmonton and brought him back to Manitoba.

Dion Janvier, 19, of Edmonton, was charged with a variety of offences including: robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise to commit an offence, three counts of uttering threats, and failing to comply with terms of probation.

A 31-year-old woman previously arrested in connection with the gaming centre robbery remains in custody.

The gaming centre was robbed late at night on Jan. 24 by an armed man wearing a balaclava who demanded cash and cigarettes.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. There were no injuries.

In March, a 37-year-old man was convicted for his role in the robbery. The charges involved possessing a prohibited firearm and possessing goods obtained by crime.
