Thompson RCMP search for home invasion suspect

  • Print

Thompson RCMP are asking for the public's help to find a suspect in a two-week-old home invasion and assault case.

The suspect is described as tall, slim-built, aboriginal male with a teardrop-shaped tattoo at the corner of his right eye. He was wearing dark blue jeans, with lighter material on the front of his thighs, dark gray winter jacket with fur around the hood, black hooded sweatshirt, grey baseball cap and black neck warmer over his cheekbones.

The incident occurred in the late afternoon of Jan. 30, when a male broke into an apartment in the Eastwood area of Thompson, demanding cash and assaulting one of the occupants with a weapon. A boy who was assaulted sustained non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses said the intruder was brandishing a knife and was chased from the apartment by other occupants.

Police are asking that anyone with information about the robbery contact Thompson RCMP (204-677-6909) or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). You can also visit www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text "TIPMAN" plus your message to Crimes (274637).
