Thunderstorm warnings in southern Manitoba

  • Print

Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for two areas in southern Manitoba, including the rural municipalities of De Salaberry, Franklin, Montcalm, Morris and Rhineland.

The agency is tracking thunderstorms that may produce nickel sized hail and torrential downpours.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-800-239-0484 or send an email to storm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports with #MBStorm.
