Traffic offence leads to seizure of $37K worth of marijuana

Portage la Prairie Mounties found $37,000 worth of marijuana when they pulled over a vehicle early Tuesday for a traffic offence on the Trans-Canada Highway.

The car was just east of Portage around 3 a.m. when police pulled it over.

"Subsequent investigation revealed that the occupants in the vehicle were in possession of approximately 10.5 pounds of marijuana," said Cst. Shannon Neff.

Two Winnipeg men, aged 28 and 21, are in court today.
