Train hits stolen truck left on tracks
A train hit a stolen pickup truck late Tuesday that had been left on a crossing, RCMP report.
RCMP Lac du Bonnet and Beausejour Detachment members responded to the collision about 11:15 p.m. at the railroad crossing on Pommer Road in the Rural Municipality of Reynolds.
On arrival, no one could be located in the vehicle. It was determined that the vehicle had been left on the railroad track, RCMP said.
The registered owner was located. It appears, the RCMP said, that his vehicle, a dark red 1996 GMC 1500 pickup truck, was stolen from his yard some time last night in the RM of Reynolds.
No injuries have been reported. RCMP with the assistance of the CP Rail Police continue to investigate.
