Passenger rail service between Gillam and Churchill is finally back on track.
Six weeks after a derailment forced rail service to shut down, Via Rail Canada will have a train leaving Gillam tonight at 11:30 p.m.
The first train to depart Churchill is scheduled for Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
On June 2, 13 freight train cars derailed near Churchill. Via Rail is currently communicating with all customers who booked tickets prior to the suspension of the service.
