A 12-hour standoff in Tuxedo ended peacefully early this morning.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man who had been inside the home where officers had been called Friday.

On Friday, police responded to a residence located in the 1800 block of Wellington Crescent to check on the wellbeing of a male occupant.

Information was reported that a man displaying unpredictable behaviour had barricaded himself within a residence. Further information supported that this man also had access to weapons.

Due to the volatile situation, area road closures were put into place.

The incident command structure was implemented involving members of the Crisis Negotiation Unit.

On Saturday at about 12:45 a.m., a 30 year-old male was safely taken into custody.

Several airguns, airsoft pellets, hatchet, holsters, gas mask and knives were seized by officers.

The man has been charged with: utter threat to cause death or bodily harm, mischief and fail to comply with a probation order.

He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
