  • Print

Two men have been charged after a botched convenience store robbery attempt, police say.

On Friday at about 3:30 a.m., two male suspects showed up at a convenience store located in the 1300 block of Main Street. Prior to entering the business, the men tried to conceal their identity and began acting in a suspicious manner. This activity was observed by staff and the business front doors were secured.

The suspects attempted to gain entry but were unsuccessful. Police were notified and the suspects fled.

About an hour later, the suspects returned and were observed acting in a similar fashion. Staff members again secured the business, preventing them from entering. Police were notified once again.

After a brief foot pursuit involving patrol members and a successful track by members of the canine unit, both men were found and arrested.

Daniel Breton, 19 years old, has been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (robbery), disguise with intent and breach of probation.

Matthew Miron, 18 years-old, has been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (robbery) and disguise with intent.

Both were detained.
