Two arrested in connection with Split Lake homicide

Thompson RCMP have made two arrests in connection with a homicide Sunday at Split Lake First Nation.

Police were called to the community’s nursing station around noon about a suspicious death.

A 28-year-old man had been taken from his home to the nursing station. An investigation revealed he had been assaulted. Police identified the victim as Elijah Alex Garson, a Split Lake resident.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place in Winnipeg today.

Two suspects, an adult male and a male youth have been arrested.

The RCMP Major Crime Services along with Thompson forensic identification section and RCMP Thompson detachment continue to investigate this matter.
