  • Print

Two 18-year-old men were arrested Monday night for their alleged involvement in a convenience store holdup.

Winnipeg Police said a convenience store in the 900 block of Elizabeth Road was held up at 9:40 p.m. by a lone male, who had threatened the clerk with bear spray.

The suspect fled the store with cigarettes and other merchandize. He discharged the bear spray as he fled but no one was hurt.

General patrol officers, along with the canine unit and tactical squad, responded to the call and two suspects were found nearby and taken into custody.

The suspects face a variety of charges, including robbery with a weapon, and wearing a disguise.

Both men remain in custody.
