Two charged with second degree murder in death on Black River Nation
Two men were arrested today after a 25-year-old man, Peter Richard Bird, was killed early Tuesday in Black River First Nation.
Jason Moar, 20 and Brandon Bird, 21, both of Black River First Nation, were charged with second-degree murder, RCMP said today in a release.

Peter Richard Bird, also from Black River, about 150 kilometres north of Winnipeg, was stabbed during a confrontation at a residence at about 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day, police said. An autopsy was performed this morning in Winnipeg and found Bird died of a stab wound.
The victim and the two accused were known to each other, the RCMP said.
