Two convenience stores robbed early Saturday morning

A convenience store in the 1000 block on Henderson Highway was robbed by a lone male armed with a weapon at about 2 a.m. on Saturday.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. The lone employee was not hurt.

The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, 18-25 years of age, with a thin build and dark hair.

Another store in the 1000 block on McPhillips St. was robbed of cigarettes early Saturday morning by a lone male armed with a weapon.

The suspect fled on foot. The employee was not hurt.

The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, 18-20 years of age with short, shaved black hair.

Police said the robberies may be linked, but are still under investigation.
