Two girls are accused of setting fire to a barn near Souris Friday. A combine inside the barn was destroyed. There were no injuries.

Two girls have been arrested following a barn fire north of Souris Friday evening.

Police and emergency services personnel were called to a barn fire in the RM of Glenwood, about seven kilometres north of Souris at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, RCMP said in a press release.

When they arrived, the barn that housed a combine was engulfed in flames, police said.

The building and equipment were destroyed. RCMP said a damage estimate is not available.

There were no injuries.

Souris RCMP arrested two female youths from the RM of Glenwood. The girls face charges of mischief and have been released to their guardians on a promise to appear in court in Brandon June 10.
