Two males stole a vehicle Thursday afternoon after assaulting its owner, police said.

Just before 2 p.m. a 32-year-old woman was approached by the pair in the 900-block of Portage Avenue, near Arlington Street.

They asked her for a cigarette, then pushed her to the ground, stole her purse and drove off in her vehicle.

The woman was not injured. Her vehicle has been recovered.

The robbers are described as: a black male, 20-30 years of age, 6’-tall, lanky build; and, a Caucasian male, 16-18 years of age, 5’10" tall, medium build with long black hair, beard and a moustache.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-6668 or Winnipeg Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
