Two men arrested after Henderson Highway robbery

Police have arrested and charged two men after a robbery at a Henderson Highway convenience store early Sunday morning.

Police say they were called to the scene in the 1000-block of Henderson at around 1:55 a.m. Two men allegedly approached a 34-year-old man working alone at the store, demanding and receiving cash and cigarettes before fleeing.

The employee was not hurt during the robbery. Police say the canine unit and flight operations unit were able to find the suspects nearby soon after.

A 39-year-old man and 59-year-old man, both of Winnipeg, are facing robbery charges, and are currently in custody.
