Two students in stable condition after being struck on Grant

Two teenage boys were taken to hospital in stable condition after they were hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Grant Avenue and Laidlaw Boulevard this morning.

The incident happened at about 8:10 a.m., police said.

Police wouldn't say if the injured people were youths attending school in the area. The intersection is near St. Paul's and Shaftesbury high schools.

But a female witness said the pedestrians struck were Grade 10 students at St. Paul's.

"My head is just with these kids," she said, visibly shaken.

Traffic was blocked in both directions on Grant between Bower and Laidlaw boulevards, but was re-opened about 9 a.m.

A tow truck hauled away a grey, four-door Sentra from the intersection.
