An ATV two girls were on was struck by a Ford Mustang while crossing a highway early Tuesday evening near Selkirk, RCMP said.

The two teens were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The man driving the car was not injured, RCMP said.

The two 15-year-old girls operating the four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle were travelling south on Road 29 East when they tried to cross Highway 44 and were struck by an eastbound Ford Mustang, RCMP said.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. in the RM of St. Clements.

The investigation continues, police said.
