U of M education dean dies

University of Manitoba has announced the death of education dean Robert Macmillan.

Macmillan died out of province late last week, officials said - few details are immediately available, and no funeral arrangements have been announced.

Macmillan was named dean of education in July of 2011, coming to U of M from Western University in Ontario, having previously taught at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia.

An expert in principalship and school administration, Macmillan had been a social studies teacher and a principal in both elementary and high schools in Quebec.
