U of W names Albert new dean of business and economics

The University of Winnipeg has named Sylvie Albert as its new dean of business and economics effective Aug. 15.

Albert, who is fully bilingual, comes to U of W from Laurentian University in Sudbury, where she was association dean of the faculty of management and taught in the MBA program.

Albert’s research focus has been on intelligent cities where she has played an international role as an author and lead jurist for the Intelligent Community Forum, a New York-based think tank.

Albert is from New Brunswick, and has also spent five years living in Africa.
