Unusually mild weather spell sticking around in southern Manitoba

You’ve got another three days until the real January returns, so enjoy it while you can.

Above-normal temperatures will stick around until Friday when daily highs will drop back into double-digit minus figures.

Today should see increasing cloudiness throughout the morning and then periods of snow, with a total accumulation of between two and four centimetres, winds becoming south 40 km/h gusting to 60 km/h and a high of -1 C.

Things should cool off a little tomorrow under a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -6 C.

Thursday is expected to be the nicest day of the week – if you call cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers "nice" – and a high of plus 2 C. Hurray for melting!

The relative deep freeze will return on Friday with periods of snow, strong winds and a high of -12 C. Saturday will drop back below the average temperature for this time of year with a high of -17 C under a mix of sun and cloud.
