Water meter readers to begin visiting homes again

The city is advising homeowners to be on the lookout for water meter readers this summer.

Starting Wednesday and continuing through August, meter readers will visiting homes weekdays between 2:30 p.m. and dusk.

Readers will be dressed in dark blue pants or shorts, with a light blue striped shirt sporting a City of Winnipeg Water and Waste logo over the pocket. Here’s what your friendly neighbourhood meter reader should look like: http://www.winnipeg.ca/cao/media/imageLinks/MeterReader2013.jpg

Residents are urged to check the identification of readers before allowing them into homes. All service staff are wearing photo identification and will be carrying a small computer.

Please note: city meter readers do not collect money.
