The woman was approached by a stranger around Main Street and Bannatyne Avenue area shortly after midnight. The pair chatted, and got on a bus headed to Fort Rouge. When they got off the bus near Osborne Street and Walker Avenue they went to a convenience store.

They then walked near the St. Vital bridge, where the woman was assaulted. She fled and went to a nearby curling club. The attacker followed and robbed her, police said.

The assailant is described as black, in his late 30s to early 40s, six-foot tall, slim build, short black hair (shaved) and clean-shaven. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 986-6245 or 786-TIPS.
