Man arrested after woman, girl assaulted overnight
An adult female and a female youth were both taken to hospital following an assault late Monday night.
Winnipeg police have a 32-year-old man in custody Tuesday after a woman and a teen girl were assaulted and hospitalized late Monday night.
An adult man who is known to the victims went to a residence at the 1500 block of Pembina Highway Monday where the 46-year-old woman and 13-year old girl were, a police release said. They were assaulted with a weapon, police said, and the man fled.
He was found later at his residence and taken into custody, the release said.
The two victims were taken to hospital in unstable condition, but were upgraded to stable later, police said Tuesday.
The investigation continues.
