  • Print

A 32-year-old woman has been arrested after an altercation with an off-duty police officer escalated.

On Friday at about 3 p.m. a male officer was driving his own vehicle near Chief Peguis Trail Bridge and Main Street.

The officer noticed the woman, who was driving a Mazda Protege, allegedly pull in directly behind him and honk her horn.

The woman then allegedly started making gestures telling the officer to pull over, causing both vehicles to stop near Main Street and Red River Boulevard. After the officer got out of his vehicle and said he was a police officer, the woman allegedly assaulted him in the upper body.

Police responded to the scene and placed the woman under arrest.

During this process, the woman allegedly assaulted three more officers and said belligerent things.

Christine Scaife, 32, is now charged with four counts of assaulting a peace officer, three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, impaired driving, failure to provide breath sample, obstruct/resist peace officer and possessing a controlled drug or substance (marijuana). She is at the Remand Centre.
