A 58-year-old woman was killed and three people injured when two pickup trucks collided north of Thompson, RCMP report.
The collision took place Wednesday on Hwy. 280, about 80 km. north of Thompson, at about 4 p.m.
A 62-year-old man from Split Lake, who was driving a 2012 Ford pickup truck, and a five-year-old boy with him were treated for undetermined injuries. The woman who died was a passenger in the Ford truck.
The driver of a 2004 Dodge pickup truck, a 33-year-old woman from Gillam, was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
RCMP said witnesses told them the Dodge truck was southbound on the highway when the driver lost control and the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with the Ford truck.
Police said the front of the Ford struck the passenger side of the Dodge.
RCMP said road conditions were slippery at the time of the collision.
Police are continuing to investigate.
