Woman sought following knifepoint robbery

Police are looking for a woman wanted in connection with a knifepoint robbery on Arlington Street Saturday morning.

Police say a woman armed with a knife went into a convenience store in the 800 block at around 7:30 a.m. and took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes from the counter before fleeing the store.

Neither of the two employees working at the time were injured.

The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, roughly 20 years of age, between 5'8" and 5'10" in height, with a heavy build.

Anyone with more information can call police investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477). The major crimes unit is continuing to investigate.
