A 29-year-old York Landing man is dead in what police are calling a homicide.

On Sunday, just after 5 a.m., Gillam RCMP were dispatched to the scene of an unconscious man outside a home in Ilford. The man was rushed to the local nursing station where he was pronounced dead.

RCMP are not releasing the man’s name yet. An autopsy is scheduled to take place today in Winnipeg.

Gillam RCMP, with help from the RCMP’s major crimes unit and forensic identification unit, continues to investigate.
