A princely PLACE
Old Market Square reminds RWB dancer of his home in St. Petersburg
What I like most about Winnipeg are the parts of the city where there are old, historic buildings. I like the look of the old stone and the feel of the streets that surround them. These historic places each have their own story and spirit. Old Market Square is a particular favourite of mine because the buildings around it remind me of St. Petersburg where I used to live and dance. St. Petersburg has a rich, magnificent history and culture. Winnipeg also has a very rich and interesting history. In those historic neighborhoods in Winnipeg, like the Exchange District and St. Boniface, I can actually feel the amazing, and rather breathtaking past of this vibrant city. Not every town has such a long interesting past behind it, but in Winnipeg, especially standing in Old Market Square on a snowy evening, you can definitely feel it in the air, in the streets, everywhere.
