Ackman also named police Chief Devon Clunis in the legal action.

Statements of defence have not been filed. The allegations have not been proven in court.

In documents filed recently in court, Ackman alleges the police are spreading false and damaging comments through media releases, which in turn have been published and broadcast by local media outlets.

The documents consisted of handwritten notes, as one of the court-imposed conditions for his release as he is not allowed access to computers.

Ackman is representing himself in the legal action.

Earlier this year, Ackman filed suit against the Winnipeg Sun, seeking $2 million for damages he alleges he has suffered as a result of the stories it has written about him.

Ackman has been charged with allegedly recruiting teen runaways for child-porn videos, in addition to the child prostitution-related charges.

Last week, Ackman was seen placing posters near Grant Park High School recruiting actors for a movie.
