Bad roads lead to multi-vehicle Perimeter crash

SLIPPERY roads and poor visibility Saturday resulted in a multi-vehicle crash on the Perimeter Highway south of Winnipeg.

RCMP said eight vehicles were involved in a series of accidents that closed westbound lanes of the Perimeter Highway from Highway 75 to Provincial Road 200 for several hours.

One person was taken to hospital but there were no reports of any serious injuries, Sgt. Line Karpish said.

Two sought in Main robbery

TWO men are wanted in connection with a store robbery Friday night on Main Street.

Police said the men concealed their identities and demanded cash from the lone man working at the store in the 2100 block of Main. One of the men was armed with a weapon. They took the cash and fled. The store employee was not injured.

The suspects are both Caucasian, 20 to 25 years old with medium builds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
