Nepinak's daughter gets tickets

TANYA Nepinak's daughter, Jasmine, 11, is one fan looking forward to seeing Justin Bieber in concert tonight in Winnipeg.

She received two tickets Wednesday from Winnipeg businessman Allan McLeod, who donated four tickets to the concert after he viewed a video by Jasmine and her father.

The YouTube video is the centrepiece of an Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs campaign for a national inquiry into the disappearance and slayings of aboriginal women in Canada.

Tanya Nepinak disappeared a year ago and a police search for her body at the Brady Road Landfill earlier this month failed to turn up any of her remains. Accused serial killer Shawn Lamb, 52, faces second-degree murder charges in connection with the death of Nepinak and two other women, Carolyn Sinclair and Lorna Blacksmith. The bodies of the other two women have been recovered.

AMC announced a draw for the other two tickets. McLeod is president and CEO of the Tribal Council Investment Group, a First Nations-owned conglomerate based in Winnipeg.

'I love Justin Bieber' tattoo for dad

ROB Gilchrist is scheduled to get a tattoo today that will proclaim his love for Justin Bieber -- but it's really about love for his 11-year-old daughter.

During a Winnipeg radio station's promotion of Bieber ticket giveaways, Virgin Radio heard from numerous listeners who said they'd do anything to get tickets. DJ Ace Burpee issued a challenge for a father who would be willing to get a tattoo in exchange for tickets.

Rob Gilchrist of Winnipeg, stepped up to the challenge and agreed to get an "I Love Justin Bieber" tattoo in exchange for tickets, a news release said.

The doting dad is scheduled to go under the needle this morning.

Bieber performs this evening at the MTS Centre.
