Couple charged with selling hairspray, mouthwash for drinking
WINNIPEG — Police have charged a man and a woman at a West End convenience store with selling hairspray and mouthwash as intoxicating substances.
The man, 61, and a woman, 52, were charged under the Liquor Control Act and Canada Tobacco Act with selling as beverages non-potable intoxicating substances and selling cigarettes in a package of less than 20.
On Oct. 29 a Liquor Control Act search warrant was executed and a quantity of mouthwash and hairspray was seized at the convenience stores, which is located in the 700 block of St. Matthews Avenue, police said.
The accused were released on a promise to appear.
