Firefighters camping out on roof raise $20,000 so far

WINNIPEG -- Four firefighters who’ve been camped out on the roof of the Osborne Street fire hall since Monday morning need a big final push to reach their fundraising goal for Muscular Dystrophy.

They need to be on duty Saturday morning, so an aerial ladder will bring them down Friday morning at 11 a.m.

"We’ve raised just over $20,000," but the target is $50,000, says United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg president Alex Forrest.

Cheques made out to Muscular Dystrophy can be dropped off at any fire hall in Winnipeg.
