WINNIPEG - The St. Vital Mustang Football Club is getting $420,000 to buy new lights for its football field.

The capital investment was announced at a news conference Wednesday morning in Maple Grove Park in south St. Vital, where the Mustangs’ community-league teams play.

The federal contribution of $138,600 comes through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program.

As well, the province and the city are making contributions.

"The St. Vital Mustangs are obviously elated with today’s announcement," Paul Nellis, the football club’s president, said in a statement.

"The commitment shown here by all levels of government to amateur football in our community helps ensure the success of our kids today, and for many more in the years to come."

The (RInC) program is spending $500 million on recreational facilities across Canada over two years.

138.6 + 150 + 61 = 420????

I sure hope some of that money will be going to the field at George McDowell School that they have been destroying in the last few weeks praticing on?
