Unemployment Clock in Winnipeg today

WINNIPEG - A clock measuring job losses in Canada will be on prominent display in Winnipeg today.

The National Unemployment Clock will be in or around Portage and Main from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The clock campaign, sponsored by the Telecommunications Workers Union, is designed to raise awareness across Canada about the dangers of allowing large international corporations, such as Telus, to continue outsourcing jobs.

The clock offers a "real time" count of job losses in Canada, began its journey on Parliament Hill on May 6.
