Police issue warning about prescription drugs taken in purse snatching
Winnipeg police have issued a warning about some prescription drugs taken in a purse snatching Saturday night from a female leaving a business in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue.
As the female walked through a parking lot, one of three youths nearby ran up from behind and made off with her purse.
The victim was not injured.
The youths took her purse and contents, including several medications: Apo - Risperidone; Apo – Brcmocriptine Mesylate; an asthma puffer; Bricanyl puffer; Pulmicort Turbuhaler Budesonide.
These medications can cause nausea and vomiting, as well as dizziness. If located, turn the medications over to any police station or call 986-6222.
Suspect #1 is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 16 years of age, about 5’7" with slim build, wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black baseball cap.
Suspect #2 is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 16 years of age, about 5’10" with a medium build, dark hair, wearing a white jacket with black designs, and black pants.
Suspect #3 is described as possibly being a female, shorter in stature, slim build, dressed in black sweatpants and a black jacket.
The investigation is continuing by the Division 13 Crime Unit.
Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to call them at 986-2849 or Crimestoppers at 786-TIPS.
