Broadway blaze injures resident

A man was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in his Broadway apartment early on Sunday.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said a suite in a three-storey apartment block in the 300 block of Broadway caught fire shortly after 2 a.m.

The tenant was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and was in stable condition.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The blaze caused $15,000 damage to the suite's structure and $5,000 to its contents.

No other injuries were reported.
