Wednesday -- U.S. stock and bond markets are closed for Independence Day.

Thursday -- in Montreal, Velan Inc. holds their first-quarter conference call. In Washington, the Labor Department releases weekly jobless claims; Freddie Mac, the mortgage company, releases weekly mortgage rates; and the Institute for Supply Management releases its service sector index for June.

Friday -- in Toronto, Sandvine holds a second-quarter conference call. In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases the labour-force survey for June and the value of building permits for May. In Washington, the Labor Department releases employment data for June.
