Today -- In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases Canada's international transactions in securities for July. In Toronto, contract talks between the Canadian Auto Workers union and Ford, Chrysler and GM continue ahead of an 10:59 p.m. Monday strike deadline.

Tuesday -- In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases June job vacancies and July figures for travel between Canada and other countries. In Toronto, Major Drilling Group International, a mining drilling company, holds its annual meeting. In Mississauga, CML HealthCare discusses new strategy on a conference call.

Thursday -- In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases employment insurance figures for July. In Calgary, Nexen shareholders vote on a takeover offer by China National Offshore Oil Co.

Friday -- In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases the consumer price index for August and wholesale trade figures for July. In Toronto, Andean American Gold Corp. holds its annual and special meeting; shareholders will be asked to vote for the miner's merger with Lupaka Gold.
