Centra Gas rates go down a tad

  • Print

THE cost to keep your shower warm is going down, but only slightly.

The Public Utilities Board said Thursday it approved an application by Centra Gas to decrease the current primary gas rate to $0.1551/m3 from $0.1567/m3effective Aug. 1.

Centra made the application due to lower market prices since April for natural gas.

The cost of natural gas for Centra's customers has been falling since 2008.

The PUB says it means the annual bill for a typical residential customer will decrease 0.8 per cent or $7 a year.

Primary Gas rates will be reviewed again Nov. 1.

Primary gas rates for customers who have signed fixed-term, fixed-price contracts, with either Centra or a private broker, are not affected.
