Crash near Garson kills driver, passenger

TWO people are dead following a head-on collision on Highway 44 just east of Garson on Tuesday night.

The collision happened at about 6:45 p.m. A car, driven by a man and carrying a female passenger, was travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes. The pair collided with an eastbound pickup truck.

The car driver and passenger both died. The 29-year-old pickup truck driver was conveyed to hospital with undetermined injuries. Beausejour and Oakbank RCMP attended.

RCMP said no other information on the deceased will be released until their next of kin are notified.
