VIOLENT CRIME SEVERITY INDEX
Statistics Canada uses the VCS Index to determine the seriousness of crime in a community. The VCS is calculated by placing a weighted score for each category of violent crime. Here is a comparison of western Canadian cities from 2010 to 2011.
