A fire broke out in a 10,000-square-foot loading warehouse on Sutherland Avenue on Wednesday morning, sending a plume of smoke over the district.
There were no reports of injuries in the fire at EJR Reload Inc., 250 Sutherland Ave., and no damage estimate was available.
According to the company's website, EJR was incorporated in March 1981 as a lumber-transfer facility that "works hand in hand" with the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National railways. In 1987, it became a transfer facility for steel for CP Rail.
It also executes rail-to-truck transfers with distribution in Manitoba, northwestern Ontario and eastern Saskatchewan.
There is no damage estimate available on Wednesday.
