Grey Cup salute for local activist on addictions

PROPERTY manager and repeated political candidate Ian Rabb will find himself at centre field on Grey Cup day for his work to help victims of substance abuse.

Scotiabank named Rabb a finalist Wednesday in the National Scotiabank Game Changer competition that recognizes local heroes, for his work with Two Ten Recovery Inc.

"Ian will also attend the 100th Grey Cup in Toronto, where he will be recognized on the field during the game," an announcement said.

Ian was selected as a finalist for helping for more than 10 years to change the lives of hundreds of people in Winnipeg who suffer from addiction. He founded Two Ten Recovery Inc. in 2004, after recognizing the lack of housing for individuals recovering from substance abuse, the statement said.

As a finalist, Rabb could win $100,000 for Two Ten Recovery.

Rabb overcame a substance addiction and turned his attention to helping others overcome theirs.
