Senior's body found

THE body of a 78-year-old man has been found by a boater in the Winnipeg River at Otter Falls.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP responded and the man was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday afternoon. The man was living in the RM of Springfield and his name is not being released at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled.

Fatal highway rollover

A 47-year-old man is dead after being ejected from his truck when it rolled over on Highway 17. Investigators say he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

The man was from the RM of Eriksdale, and his name is not being released at this time.

The accident happened when he was heading south near Road 91 North just before 11 p.m. on Saturday. His 2008 Ford pickup truck is believed to have gone off the road and rolled over at least one time.

Teulon RCMP and local emergency crews responded, and the man was brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The highway was closed for several hours for investigation.
