Redwood Bridge closed
THE Redwood Bridge will be closed today for structural repairs.
City of Winnipeg officials said the bridge will close from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. to let crews conduct structural steel repairs, inspection and maintenance. The south sidewalk will remain open for pedestrian traffic.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as the Disraeli and Louise bridges.
Transit on winter schedule
WINNIPEG Transit will switch to its winter schedule starting Sunday.
City officials said a number of routes -- including, 11, 12, 16, 18, 24,25, 28, 31, 33, 39, 50, 53, 54, 55, 57, 58, 59, 67 and 68 -- will operate with adjusted schedules. Winnipeg adjusts its transit service four times a year to match seasonal changes in ridership.

Drug busts in Thompson
THE RCMP were busy busting alleged drug dealers in Thompson this week.
Three separate raids were carried out Thursday, resulting in three arrests.
A traffic stop Wednesday resulted in two Winnipeggers being charged with drug and trafficking offences.
Three separate raids were conducted Thursday in the Burntwood, Eastwood and Westwood neighbourhoods of Thompson, resulting in the arrest of three local residents who were charged with possession and trafficking offences.
RCMP seized more than four pounds of marijuana and two ounces of cocaine, and more than $2,000 in cash.
The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at $21,200.
At the traffic stop on Wednesday, RCMP seized 12 ounces of powder cocaine, with an estimated street value of $25,000.
