He was transported to hospital in critical condition but later died.
Police are not releasing his name.
Scammer victimizes Winnipegger
WINNIPEG police are warning the public about a telephone scam.
In September, an unknown man who identified himself as P.C. Doctor contacted a Winnipeg resident.
The man offered to update the victim's computer security system and asked for personal credit information. The victim agreed and was charged for the service.
The victim was contacted again this month and was told the company was unable to perform the service and a refund would be issued.
The victim was asked to fill out an online Western Union form with the victim's banking information and was subsequently billed for more fraudulent charges. Police advise the public to refrain from giving any personal or financial information to unsolicited parties.
