Katz family adding a new member to the inner circle
MAYOR Sam Katz is doing his part to ensure Winnipeg continues to grow.
Katz and his wife, Leah, are expecting their first child together later this year, the mayor's office announced on Tuesday.
"We have a due date in December, but as you know, this isn't an exact science," Katz said Tuesday. "We're ecstatic."
Katz, 61, has two children from his previous marriage to Baillie Burke.
The couple divorced in 2006, shortly after the mayor was re-elected. Their oldest daughter, Ava, is 10, while younger sister Kiera is seven.
Sam and Leah Katz were married in 2011 in Phoenix and had their honeymoon in Costa Rica.
